High School Academic Tutoring

High school students are expected to master more complex concepts and developments: the causes of the French Revolution, the components of a Shakespearean sonnet, or the details of the Krebs cycle in biology.

However, these things are often taught via their details: boring names, dates and definitions. While the details are important, so is understanding the BIG picture. For example, that the United States developed a distinctive civilization as people from many cultures interacted and spread across the continent; or that plants give out oxygen and take in sunshine, water and carbon dioxide, while animals do the opposite, taking in oxygen, plants and water, and excrete carbon dioxide and wastes.

Advantage Learning Center can help your student understand the big picture, translating the concepts the high school teacher is teaching into terms the student can grasp.
